FUNDING: Systems Biology Research to Advance Bioenergy Crop Production

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, under the Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program, is issuing a $75 million funding opportunity announcement for systems biology research to advance bioenergy crop production.

The long-term goal is to advance the ability to determine, predict, and optimize biomass feedstock production. The research requested by this opportunity will aim to:

Identify molecular mechanisms underlying bioenergy feedstock productivity under varied and at times suboptimal environmental conditions and
Determine the roles microbes and microbial communities play in supporting plant productivity and vigor.
